Double the Solar Power Generating Capacity at Appaloosa Library
Location: Appaloosa Library
Estimated Completion: September 2025
The City of Scottsdale is moving forward with a project to double the solar electricity generating capacity at the Appaloosa Library. While the library’s existing solar system was originally planned for higher capacity, budget constraints at the time of construction limited the initial installation to only a portion of the system. Because conduits and mounting racks for the additional panels are already in place, this project efficiently leverages existing infrastructure to maximize clean energy production. This initiative aligns with the city’s broader sustainability goals as outlined in the General Plan, which prioritizes increased renewable energy production and improved energy efficiency for public facilities.
