Build Roadway & Pedestrian Improvements along 2nd Street
Location: 2nd Street from Drinkwater Blvd to Goldwater Blvd
Estimated Completion: June 2026
The City of Scottsdale is enhancing the pedestrian environment in Old Town by implementing comprehensive roadway and accessibility improvements along 2nd Street. This project focuses on creating a more walkable and vibrant urban space through the widening and repair of sidewalks, the addition of dedicated bike lanes, and the installation of new pedestrian-oriented lighting. Complementing these infrastructure upgrades, the initiative includes new landscaping and the creation of two pocket parks. These improvements are a direct implementation of the Main Street Streetscape and Pedestrian Design plan, ensuring that this corridor provides a safe and inviting experience for residents and visitors alike. Additionally, the project includes specific ADA enhancements, such as the replacement of outdated ramps with modern, accessible versions to ensure universal access to the Civic Center area.
